Research

Since its move to the brand new Richard J. Renaud Science Complex on the University's Loyola campus, The Department enjoys a custom designed facility, which has been built to suit the needs of our modern laboratories serving the undergraduate and the research communities. We share the building with Concordia's other experimental science departments: Biology, Physics, Psychology and Exercise Science which facilitates innovative collaborations.

The Department has faculty members active in a range of traditional and newer research areas. For lists of professors by area, please use the following drop-down menu:

Please Note: The Department welcomes enquiries from potential graduate students, or post doctoral fellows, when such enquiries are appropriately directed. However, enquiries which mention research areas which do not match those of the person to whom the enquiry is directed will be treated as "spam" and discarded.

Research Centres

Some of the major facilities accessible to researchers include: the Centre for Stuctural and Functional Genomics; the Centre for Research in Molecular Modeling; the Centre for Biological Applications of Mass Spectrometry; the Centre for NanoScience Research; a laser spectroscopy laboratory; a nuclear magnetic resonance laboratory; and a biochemical spectroscopy laboratory including FTIR, fluorescence and CD spectrometers.
